Mark Giles gives the OK to new plug

We have completely re-faired an old hull, incorporating a recess for the slot gasket, simplified the hull deck joint on the transom and moved the centreboard box joint to the top, to avoid leaks.
Testing of new masts continues, the new Needlespar at present being favourite. However the Superspar mast may well prove better for heavier helms giving a class a wider competitive weight range.
Custom lightning rudder stocks are now available with new style rudder clip and when used with latest rudder blades don't sink!!

Note: Hatches fitted to side tanks to cover thwart removal, and extra gussets either side of pod to aid stiffness. Really good ideas. We are modifying pod mould to incorporate gussets as standard.

Q: The difference between the Dacron Sails and Mylar Sails?
A:
The Dacron Sails and Mylar sails are the same mould but they are different panel layout cut) due to the nature of the fabric, the Dacron's are a woven fabric therefore a XC panel layout makes a better sail for this style, the Mylar is a laminated fabric consequently they are a radial cut sail as they would not work in an XC panel format, the new sails match both mast sections and in theory will hold their shape better in strong winds. We will continue to offer both options, both are class legal. The Mylar sail being see through also has the advantage of not needing a window. (Daryl Banks Sail & John)
